Software your business can rely on.
Built for speed, secured for trust.
BongoTips builds systems, websites and mobile apps — and then runs them. The same people who write the code keep it online, so when something breaks there is nobody to pass it to.
Services
Build it, ship it, keep it running.
Most of this work is connected. A system needs somewhere to live, an app needs an API behind it, and a dashboard is only as good as the data underneath. We would rather own the whole line than leave you with three suppliers who each blame the other two.
Custom systems
Business software built around how you actually work, rather than a package you have to bend your operation to fit. Java, Spring and Python on PostgreSQL.
Websites
Company and product sites, built to load quickly on a phone and on a Tanzanian connection — and to stay up without anyone tending them.
Mobile apps
Android apps that talk to your own systems, with updates delivered straight to the device instead of waiting on a store review.
Hosting
Servers, domains, certificates, databases and backups. We host what we build and we watch it, so an outage is our problem before it is your phone call.
Business intelligence
Power BI dashboards over the systems you already run, so the numbers arrive on their own instead of being assembled by hand every month.
ICT consultancy
What to build, what to buy, and what to leave alone. Sometimes the useful answer is that you do not need the thing you were about to pay for.
Our own product
BongoTips POS, for bars and restaurants.
The clearest thing we can show you is something we built, run and answer for every day. It handles orders, payments, debt, stock and the reports that say where the money went — on an Android phone at the counter, or in a browser in the back office.
Orders and payments
Take orders against a table or a counter, send them to the kitchen, print the receipt. What is not paid becomes a debt on the books rather than a note behind the bar.
Stock and expenditure
Products, suppliers and movements, with separate stock held at each station. Money going out is logged beside money coming in, so a day's takings mean something by themselves.
Six reports
Sales, sales by counter, payments, debts, stock and expenditures — filtered by date, counter or staff member, exported as Excel or as a PDF you can password-protect.
Being straight about what is not built yet: the POS does not issue TRA fiscal receipts. That integration is next, and until it exists your fiscal process stays exactly as it is today. If that is a blocker for you, it is better that you know now.
How we work
Secured for trust is not a slogan we picked at random.
A business system is where a business is most exposed. So the interesting question is not what it lets people do — it is what it stops them doing, and what it remembers afterwards.
- Permission by permission. Access is granted per action, not by handing someone a job title that happens to include everything.
- Down to the field. Someone can be allowed to see an order without being allowed to see its cost price — enforced in the database as well as in the application.
- Every change is kept. The audit trail records what changed, who changed it, and the value before and after.
- We host what we build. One team for the code and for the server it runs on, so there is no supplier boundary running through the middle of an incident.
